Hi, I’m Chris Leppien, a qualified driving instructor and Senior Constable for New Zealand Police. I have mentored drivers in my community for many years and helped a lot of people who have struggled to pass their practical driving test. Based on the issues I have seen over this time, I have developed a number of stories, sayings, and techniques which make it easier to understand and remember what is required. These tip sheets and recordings will help develop your driving skills in these areas, helping you become a competent and safe road user.

In this resource you will find:
Recordings that show good driving techniques that will help you meet the standard required to pass your practical driving test.
Tip sheets which go with each of the recordings. These can be used as prompts when teaching and a marking sheet to assess the driving capability of the student. Each skill must be able to be repeated unprompted, until they become a habit, to meet the required standard for the practical New Zealand driving test.
